1. Acceptance and eligibility
By accessing or using SkillsPlatform.ca (the “Site”), you agree to these Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”). If you do not agree to the Terms, you must not use the Site. These Terms form a legal agreement between you and SkillsPlatform.ca.
Minimum age: The Site is intended for individuals who are at least 16 years old. If you are between 16 and the age of majority in your province or territory, you may use the Site only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms.
If you use the Site on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms, and “you” includes the organization.
2. Service description
SkillsPlatform.ca provides educational and informational content about everyday skills. Topics include personal organization, time management basics, communication and clarity, routines and structure, digital tools for everyday use, and simple learning modules. The Site may include examples, checklists, and prompts intended to support learning.
The Site is not a professional service and does not provide individualized advice. Content is provided for general educational purposes only. You are responsible for deciding how to apply information and for seeking professional support when appropriate.
We may update, reorganize, or discontinue content, features, or sections of the Site at any time. We do not promise that any specific topic, page, or feature will remain available.
3. User obligations
You agree to use the Site lawfully and in a way that respects other users and our operations. You are responsible for your own actions while using the Site and for any content you submit through forms or communications.
When you contact us through the Site, you agree to provide accurate information that is reasonably necessary for us to respond, such as your name and email address. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Site for your personal, non-commercial learning purposes. You may print or save reasonable excerpts for personal reference, provided you keep any proprietary notices intact.
You must not copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, display, transmit, sell, license, create derivative works from, or otherwise exploit Site content except as expressly permitted by these Terms or by written permission from SkillsPlatform.ca.
5. Prohibited activities
To protect visitors and the integrity of the Site, you agree not to do any of the following:
- Use the Site for unlawful, harmful, or deceptive purposes.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, servers, or networks, including by probing, scanning, or testing vulnerabilities.
- Interfere with the Site’s operation, including by introducing malware, automated load, or disruptive code.
- Scrape, crawl, or harvest content or data using automated means without our prior written consent.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code except where prohibited by law.
- Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation.

We may investigate suspected violations and may cooperate with law enforcement where required by applicable law.

The Site and all content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, SkillsPlatform.ca disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not warrant that content is complete, current, or suitable for your specific circumstances.

7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SkillsPlatform.ca will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Site.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SkillsPlatform.ca’s total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site will not exceed the lesser of: (a) the amount you paid to SkillsPlatform.ca for access to the Site in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim; or (b) one hundred euros (€100). Where consumer protection laws require a different cap or do not allow certain exclusions, the required legal standards apply.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. If those laws apply to you, some of the above limitations may not apply, and our liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SkillsPlatform.ca, its owners, and representatives from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Site; (b) your violation of these Terms; or (c) your violation of any rights of another person or entity.
We reserve the right to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter subject to indemnification by you, in which case you agree to cooperate with our defense.
9. Third-party links and services
The Site may reference or link to third-party websites or tools for convenience or context, such as general productivity applications or educational resources. Third-party links do not imply endorsement. We do not control third-party sites and are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices.
If you access third-party services, you do so at your own risk and subject to the third party’s terms and privacy practices. We recommend reviewing those documents directly.

Except where prohibited by applicable consumer protection law, you agree that any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Toronto, Ontario.
12. Dispute resolution
Before starting a legal proceeding, you agree to contact us and provide a brief written description of the issue and the relief you are requesting. We will attempt to resolve disputes informally within 30 days of receiving your notice.
If we cannot resolve the dispute within the 30-day period, either party may commence proceedings in accordance with the Governing law and jurisdiction section above, subject to any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws.
13. Termination and suspension
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or if it is necessary to protect the Site, other users, or our operations.

14. Modifications to these Terms
